Scarlet (2025) (Japanese: 果てしなきスカーレット / Hateshinaki Sukāretto, meaning Endless Scarlet) is a time-bending animated fantasy action film written and directed by the acclaimed Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda (Mirai, Belle). Produced by Studio Chizu alongside Nippon TV and Sony Pictures, the film is a loose, visually ambitious, and gender-swapped reimagining of William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Hamlet.
