I loved the cinematography in “Son of the Soil”! The way the director captured the Nigerian landscapes was breathtaking.
This movie made me think about the theme of home and what it means to be away from one’s native place.
What message are we supposed to take from Zion’s ultimate decision? Is it about loyalty or personal redemption? I would love to see a director’s commentary to clarify this point.
The drama between Zion and his family felt genuine, but I felt like it was resolved a bit too quickly. More conflict and tension would have added depth to the story.
In retrospect, the film could have benefited from a clear moral or resolution. As it stands, the ending felt more like a cliffhanger than a conclusion.
The movie portrayed the complexities of war, but neglected the impact on the environment. A side note on how the soldiers’ actions affected the ecosystem would have added an interesting layer to the narrative.
Can someone explain the plot twist to me? I’m still confused @Rotimi Adeleke
