A Shattered Beginning The story follows “teen Red Riding,” whose life is upended “after her mother’s overdose.” Leaving the familiar streets of London behind, she is sent to live at her “estranged grandmother’s Scottish estate.” The transition is far from a peaceful retreat; the sprawling, mist-covered grounds of the estate feel heavy with history, and Red quickly realizes that her grandmother is guarding more than just a family legacy.
