American Solitaire Summary

The Architecture of Isolation In a near-future America where social connection has become a luxury, American Solitaire follows Elias Thorne (Cillian Murphy), a former data architect who has retreated to a high-tech, self-sustaining bunker in the Montana wilderness. After a global digital collapse, Elias lives a life of “perfect solitude,” managed by an advanced AI system that anticipates his every need. The narrative explores the “dark realities” of total independence, as Elias’s quest for safety turns into a psychological prison. His peace is shattered when he discovers a “glitch” in the surveillance feed—a recurring image of a woman standing at the edge of his property who shouldn’t exist in the dead zones of the new world.
